What Do You Mean "Digital Transfer"?

Do you have old demo tapes or live board recordings laying around that you wish you had on CD?  Maybe a cassette tape from a practice session years ago?  Maybe you tried recording it on your computer and burned a CD, but it sounds like crap...

I can digitally record it, remove the tape hiss, do a little EQ-ing, etc, and it will probably sound a lot better.  "How do I remove the noise?", you may ask.  Through simple Digital Signal Processing using Adaptive Finite Impulse Response Filtering.  "Goodness, that sounds complicated", you might respond.  Actually, it's just some software I have, and it works pretty well.  The software has decent EQ and various other basic mastering utilities.  (I also have Cubase 5.0 if we want to get a little further into the remastering thing.)  The goal here, is not to make it sound like it came out of a studio, but just to fix any major defects.  If I get time, maybe I'll throw some before/after sound clips up here...

Can You Transfer My '80s Tape Collection?

Yes, I could, but I won't.  (And, no, I don't have an 8-track cassette player.)

What Good Is A CD With No Artwork?

A fine question.  Check out my "CD Artwork" page.  If you give me a handful of old band photos, I can quickly throw together a little "photo retrospective" artwork to go with your "audio retropective".  Something like the All Juiced Up! CD I did for The Juice Dogs.  Then you'll have a nice little CD Scrapbook of those old band days.
